Kekaha Community Revitalization Event

So unique!  So nostalgic!  So exciting!

The Kekaha Community Revitalization Event promises to be all that and more!  Kekaha town residents are preparing to welcome you to the restoration of the community-wide yard beautification contest, a throw-back to what was held decades ago when skilled green-thumbers could coax magical results with their landscaping creativity...complemented with a sand-sculpturing exhibit and contest on Kekaha Beach, augmented with a star-gazing lecture...and an "international festival of drums" segment highlighting two days of entertainment....all taking place on Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1, 2007.

Already, a T-shirt has been designed by Chris Faye whose roots are steeped in the history and heritage of her hometown.  Already, orders have been flying in, and it is projected that this T-shirt will be a top seller----worldwide, with orders coming in from all over the mainland and from as far away as countries in Asia and Europe!

By checking through various aspects of this website you will discover formats and order forms where you can get information....fill out an application blank...place an order.....and get involved in various aspects of this celebration.

Come and be a part of Kekaha, "The  Place"  Come and be a part of "Kekaha, The Garden Town of the Garden Island."  Come and make this Revitalization Event memorable.......because YOU make it possible!

It's a time for transplanted Kekahans and Kauaians to return to the Garden Island of Kauai.  It's a time for old-timers and new residents of Kekaha to reach across new neighborhoods that have sprouted to make Kekaha the fourth largest community on the island of Kauai.  It's a time for new identities to be forged as a community revitalizes itself by bringing themselves together for a one-of-a-kind celebration with a theme that speaks of "the heartbeat of humanity in support of sustainability."
The Kauai Westside Watershed Council is in the forefronf of planning and coordinating this event. This non-profit organization of dedicated members have pledged their time and their talents to bring needed focus and attention to sustainaiability concepts and practices.
